Visiting
Is the meat at Rassa halal?
Yes. We serve halal meat.
Where can I park?
Free street parking is available right on Moody Street, and there are parking lots nearby on Chestnut Street, Walnut Street and Spruce Street.
Do you take reservations?
Yes. Book a table online or call (781) 472-4000. Walk-ins are welcome when we have space. An 18% gratuity is added for parties of six or more.
Can I order takeout or delivery?
Yes. Order online for pickup or delivery during lunch and dinner hours.
What is on the lunch special?
Monday to Friday, 11 am to 3 pm: a classic curry with two sides for $15. Add a lassi, chai, filter coffee or lemonade for $5. See the lunch menu.
Do you have vegetarian and gluten-free food?
68 dishes on our dinner menu are vegetarian and 60 are gluten-free, including every dosa. See the vegetarian and gluten-free lists.
Can you host a private party?
Yes. We have four rooms to choose from and an 8 by 6 foot video wall for presentations, slideshows and game nights. Plan a private event.
Do you cater?
Yes, for office lunches, family celebrations and large events. Ask for a catering quote.
Do you have a full bar?
Yes. South Indian–inspired signature cocktails, zero-proof drinks, local draft beer, wine and one of the larger Indian whisky lists around Boston. See the bar menu.
Can you handle food allergies?
Tell your server about any allergy before you order. Our kitchen uses the same utensils and equipment for dairy and nuts, so we cannot guarantee a dish is free of them.
Celebrations
Can you decorate our table for a birthday, anniversary or date night?
Yes. When you book online, add the flower arrangement ($20): fresh flowers, candles, a golden table runner and a touch for the occasion, set before you arrive. See celebration tables.
Can you bring a cake to our table?
Yes. Add a celebration cake ($15) to your online booking, on its own or with the flowers. It is paid when you book. See celebration tables.
Private events
How many private rooms do you have?
Four rooms, so we can fit an intimate dinner or a large party. You can also book the whole restaurant.
Can we show a presentation or slideshow?
Yes. Our video wall is about 8 by 6 feet. Bring a laptop, or send us your slideshow before the event.
Is the meat halal?
Yes, we serve halal meat, and every menu can be built around vegetarian guests.
Do you have set menus?
Yes. We build set and family-style menus around your budget and guest list, with options for vegetarian, gluten-free and nut-free guests.
Is there a gratuity?
An 18% gratuity is added for parties of six or more.
Catering
What areas do you cater?
Waltham and the surrounding towns. Tell us your location in the form and we will confirm delivery.
How much notice do you need?
As much as you can give. For large events, a week or more helps. For small orders, call us and we will do our best.
Can you send servers and set up?
Yes. We can deliver and set up chafing dishes, or send servers for the event.
Is the catering halal?
Yes, we use halal meat.
Dosa
Is dosa gluten-free?
Yes. Our dosa batter is made from rice and urad dal, and every dosa on the menu is gluten-free.
Is dosa vegan?
Plain, masala, Mysore, onion, podi (with oil) and uttapam contain no dairy in the batter. Ghee dosa does. Ask your server and we will make it without ghee.
What is the difference between masala and Mysore masala dosa?
Mysore masala dosa has a spicy red chutney spread inside before the potato filling goes in.
Can I order dosa for takeout?
Yes. Order online. Dosa is crispest eaten right away, so we pack chutneys and sambar on the side.
